Tibet Overland Tour and Singalila Trek
When you visit Darjeeling and see the many Tibetan who have come over from across the border and have prospered here - you will see how they have fared in two very different lands.
This trip includes a visit to Darjeeling where you have an opportunity to visit thriving monasteries built by the new Tibetan migrants, talk to locals and see how positive discrimination has helped them. Some of them return to Tibet with their new language skills gained in Darjeeling and continue to proper there in a different fashion.
Our walk takes you along the Singalila Ridge for views of the world's highest mountains. It is a marvellous trek through terraced fields, and flowering rhododendron forests.

For the second part of the trip we travel to Kathmandu in Nepal and fly past Mt. Everest to Lhasa. Having trekked around 3000m - the altitude in Lhasa will not affect you much. However the variety of your recent travel will amaze you. The informal friendly style of Darjeeling, the bustling chaos of Kathmandu and the amazingly what seems like a modern city of Lhasa. The pockets of old Lhasa still maintain its charm - and it is where we do most of our sightseeing.
We then head back towards Kathmandu in a vehicle crossing high mountain passes, enjoying stunning views and visiting the historic towns of Gyantse and Shigatse. We then head for the base camp of Mt. Everest. We overnight close to one of the world's highest monasteries - the Rongbuk Monastery - and take an excursion to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest before heading back to Kathmandu.
