Style of Travel

Style of Travel

Our trips are designed for people who enjoy walking in remote parts of the world in the company of a friendly support team. Our groups are small and often include members who have travelled with us before. We seem to attract people who enjoy an informal and friendly style of travel and have similar interests, making the trip a fun holiday.

Generally on trek you have a support staff that includes a guide, camp staff and cook, and porterage is provided. We expect you to carry no more than a small day pack. However, we do also offer tea house treks on some routes and on these trips, you have a smaller support group.

Porterage

By providing what seems like a large support team we not only provide much needed employment to the locals but also lessen your burden so that you can enjoy your walk. The friendly attitude of these people make your travels with them a culturally enjoyable experience.

Not all our guides - speak excellent English, but communication is not usually a problem. Their experience and local knowledge and sincere interest in your welfare make up for any imperfection in their language skills. They are remembered fondly by those who have travelled with us.

Accommodation is on a twin share basis - unless single accommodation is specifically requested and the extra paid for. On trek all meals are provided. Walking tours and sightseeing tours are offered where mentioned in the itinerary at no extra cost.

Should you need any assistance to get to Darjeeling - do email us and we will advise you on the most suitable route.
